One Year, 24 Letters, Countless Lessons

August 2025

Hello, Community — This newsletter feels extra special because it’s my 24th newsletter! Which means: one full year of showing up, twice a month, no matter what.

When I decided to start this newsletter last August, I made a very intentional choice — to define success on my own terms. Success wasn’t about the number of subscribers. It wasn’t about whether new clients came through the door. It wasn’t even about whether people opened, read, or responded (though I love when you do!).

Success, for me, was about showing up and how I showed up. Could I keep a commitment to myself? Could I write with honesty, vulnerability, and consistency—even and especially when life felt messy or uncertain?

And here we are. One year later. I kept that promise.

What’s beautiful is that by focusing on what was in my control (my consistency, my voice, my willingness to share), the byproducts naturally came: more readers found their way here, people reached out with reflections, and I even had new client opportunities.

But those weren’t the point. They were the ripple effects of choosing to measure success by something deeper and more sustainable.

Looking back at where I was a year ago, I’m struck by the contrast. Emotionally, mentally, spiritually, physically—I was in such a different place.

Starting this newsletter was partly about creating more community, partly about sharing tools and techniques, but also about giving myself a space to be more open, more vulnerable, and more human.

And it worked. Over the past year, I’ve grown in ways I couldn’t have predicted. I’ve led with curiosity instead of certainty, offered myself more compassion, and practiced receiving help as much as giving it. There were ups and downs—because that’s life, and that’s leadership—but I met them differently this time.

And I’m proud of that.

So, how am I celebrating this milestone? By giving something back to YOU!

✨ For the month of September, I’m offering free 30-minute laser coaching sessions. Click HERE to book your spot.  ✨

And as always, I invite you to reflect:

How are you defining success right now?
What’s within your control that you can celebrate showing up for?
And when you look back on this past year—what are you proud of?

Here’s to redefining success, celebrating ourselves along the way, and remembering that the real milestone is not the outcome, but the commitment to the journey.

P.S. If you or your team are ready to redefine what success looks like—shifting the focus from external metrics to the habits, rhythms, and ways of showing up that are actually in your control—I’d love to support that journey. Through 1:1 coaching, leadership development, and team facilitation, I help people and organizations create sustainable definitions of success that lead to more clarity, confidence, and connection. Let’s connect.
